Breaking News: Richard Jefferson Traded to San Antonio

 
ESPN.com reports that the Spurs have acquired Richard Jefferson from the Milwaukee Bucks for Bruce Bowen, Fabricio Oberto, and Kurt Thomas. Before today, there was no word of trade talks occurring between these two teams.  Earlier today, Chad Ford reported that Richard Jefferson had been offered to the Wizards for the fifth pick in Thursday's NBA draft, but there was no mention of San Antonio as a possible trade partner. This move may come as a surprise, but both team's fans should welcome it.  In Jefferson, San Antonio adds a proven wing scorer to play alongside Manu Ginobili.  Jefferson's versatility and athleticism will help rejuvenate the Spurs after a disappointing end to the '08-09 season. Jefferson can defend multiple positions, shoot the three, slash to the basket, create shots for himself and his teammates, and rebound the basketball.  RJ's multiple dimensions make him fit on any NBA roster.
