Breaking Packers News: Brett Favre to Retire

 
According to reports on Fox Sports and ESPN, Brett Favre has informed the Green Bay Packers that he will not return for another season.  Chris Mortensen of ESPN confirmed this report after speaking with Favre's agent. Brett Favre has confirmed his decision in a lengthy voice mail to Mortensen saying that he made his because he "felt worn down by the demands of the game".  Speculation continues as many believe he is retiring based on the Packers failure to sign Randy Moss.  Whether this is true or not, the focus should be on his illustrious career, not his reasons for retiring.  17 years as a starting quarterback in the NFL is taxing both mentally and physically.  His decision is somewhat surprising, but not one that should be really questioned.
