Brett Favre Didn't Report to Green Bay Packers Camp

 
The Green Bay Packers have reported to training camp today, even though the first practice is not until Monday. Players were supposed to report by 7:30 a.m., but Brett Favre was not among them. In a story released on Sports Illustrated's website , Favre said that he "had planned on reporting for the start of Packers training camp Sunday, but Ted Thompson asked if I would give him a couple of days to try to get the situation resolved. I agreed to do that. I don't want to be a distraction to the Packers, and I hope in the next few days we can come to an agreement that would allow me to continue playing football.'' The news that Favre did not report comes at a time when it was previously thought that he would be in camp like everyone else. Thompson and Favre presumably talked since that time. While a trade is looking more and more plausible, reports out of New Jersey say that a deal between the Jets and the Packers isn't likely.
