Brett Favre to Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Deal by Wednesday

ESPN is reporting that the Packers have been in "intense" negotiations with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a deal could happen by Wednesday. Sources from a Tampa Bay newspaper advised that the Packers are very close to sending their former franchise quarterback to the Bucs for a package that may include a veteran QB and some type of compensation. It is rumored that it would include draft picks and the Bucs reworking Brett Favre's contract. Favre had been in talks with the Bucs after the latest round with the Packers management resulted in the situation where there was no possibility of trading in the division. ESPN has released information that Brett's wife had given her blessing to the Tampa Bay trade and that Brett is exhausted from this ordeal. The same source also indicated that the New York Jets could still possibly be in the hunt for the veteran QB and that Favre had had discussions with them.
