Brown happy to be back by the Bay

Emil Brown is back where it all began. After playing in a number of organizations and his last three seasons with the Royals, the veteran outfielder seized the chance this offseason to sign with the Athletics -- the club that drafted him in 1994.

The New York Yankees will play an exhibition game against Virginia Tech today in Blacksburg in honor of the 32 students killed on campus in April of last year, when a gunman went of a shooting rampage.
