BYU Basketball Makes Huge Strides By Recruiting Brandon Davies

 
A Utah homegrown product from Provo High, Brandon Davies committed to BYU after being heavily recruited by Cal, Gonzaga, Utah, and Utah State. Only 17 years old and 6'8", Brandon Davies, told Coach Rose on Sunday he was committed to BYU. Davies said, "It just felt right to choose BYU. It's close to home and I have a huge support system if I go there, with my family close by." Davies led Provo High to the 4A championship. As a power forward, he looks to be an asset to the BYU Cougars. As a four-star (out of five) recruit according to Scout.com, Davies was a high priority for BYU, being a must-get player. Davies commits as BYU seems to focus recruiting on in-state players. Davies plans on playing two seasons before he serves a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After a weekend of visiting BYU, Coach Rose jokingly asked Davies, "Are you ready to commit today?" Brandon said yes. After Davies broke the news to Coach Rose, Davies said, "He was so happy.
