Caps dispute report on Ovechkin

The Caps have issued the following statement in response to a Yahoo! Sports interview quoting Alex Ovechkin as saying he expects to miss 4-5 weeks: "The Washington Capitals dispute the validity of this report." The timeline suggested in the interview, I'm told by a team official, is not accurate. The Caps hope Ovechkin can return sooner, though it's not possible to determine an exact time frame. Ovechkin suffered a strain near his left (non-shooting) shoulder last Sunday. He's officially listed by the team as week to week. (link)
