Lawrence Tynes is going to have to wait another week.
John Carney will once again be the Giants’ kicker when they play in Pittsburgh on Sunday, according to Tom Coughlin. The 44-year-old Carney, of course, has been the Giants’ kicker in every game so far this year.
The reason, Coughlin said, is “the consistency factor.” Carney has missed only one field goal all season - a blocked 35-yarder last week.
“We have the best of two worlds,” Coughlin said. “We have one who is getting better and better and another who has done everything we’ve asked him to do.”
It’ll be interesting to hear what Tynes thinks of this since two weeks ago he told the media that the coaches told him he’d be back doing the kicking last week.
