Celtics Role Players Get Special Respect

Megan Woolhouse of THE BOSTON GLOBE writes, "Edward Mendonca of Fall River chanted for Glen "Big Baby" Davis until he was sweaty and plain hoarse. He might have been wearing a Paul Pierce jersey to yesterday's parade, but his heart and soul went out to the Celtics' bench mob, guys like Davis, Leon Powe, and James Posey. `The bench came out huge,' Mendonca said after Powe passed by in a duck boat. `Pierce and the Big Three get all the [publicity], but we're giving it up to . . . Powe, Baby, Posey. I can't even explain how much they meant to the Celtics this year.'" (link)

Reflecting On How We Got Here
bostonsportz.com 6/20/2008 — It's funny to think about now, but it wasn't that long ago we were justifying tanking our season to grab Oden or Durant. One of these guys was going to "change the face of the franchise" and "turn us into a contender for years to come." I was no better than anybody else. I had the next 10 or so years of my life planned around watching Kevin Durant draped in green. I only half-jokingly told my ...
