Changing of the Guard: New England Patriots Defense

 
It's no secret kept in the confinds of Gillette Stadium that the Patriots four linebackers are getting older. They've been aging since 2001, and have only added aging stars. Some would like to see Darren McFadden in Patriot blue, but true fans want a young linebacker to learn from possibly the best linebackers in the game. I would love to see either Chris Long or Gholston holding up that jersey in April. Belichick loves DE's who can stand up and play some line backer. Long and Gholston both could do that and learning from Bruschi, Seau, Vrabel, and Thomas would make them even smarter. This way, when Bruschi and Seau leave soon, there will be a smart, talented, DE/LB that can keep the system going. If the Patriots can grab either of those two early, and another later on, they should be in good shape. Their Defensive Backfield could use some work also, but they seem to have fixed it for now, maybe a late rounder would be helpful. Overall, the smart move is at LB.
