Chris Webber officially announces retirement

Chris Webber announced his retirement early this morning at a Warriors press conference in Oakland, California. The Warriors had high hopes that Webber might arrive at Oakland with a new solution to rebounds, defense, and experience. Unfortunately, a knee injury cut short his comeback attempt with the Golden State Warriors. Webber played only nine games with the Warriors before being sidelined by a bum left knee that's hampered him in recent years. He has not played since March 2 and had not been around the team of late. In addition, Warriors fans have been hesitant since his comeback to Oakland because of his age and the Warriors playing style. At 35, Webber finishes his career having averaged 20.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.44 steals per game in 831 regular-season games with Golden State, Washington, Sacramento, Philadelphia and Detroit.
