Chris Wells Looks to Lead Ohio State to Third Straight BCS Title Game

Under the leadership of their junior running back, Chris "Beanie" Wells, the Buckeyes look to get in to get into (yet another) BCS title game this year. These Buckeyes have 19 starters coming back to an 11-win team. Many are projecting Wells, a 237-pound running back from Akron, Ohio, to win the Heisman. Beanie has lots of power and enough speed to burst through the line and get past the safeties for a big gain. From high school, he wanted to be the first freshman ever to win a Heisman Trophy. His dream fell short because in his freshman year he was the backup to the now St Louis Rams backup, Antonio Pittman. With Pittman going into the NFL Draft, Wells became the starting running back and started every game in his sophomore year for Ohio State. He ran for 1,609 yards and 15 touchdowns with a bum ankle and broken wrist. This year, he is poised to win the Heisman and help Todd Boeckman to lead the Bucks to their first national title in five years. (link)
