Former Mets pitcher, Claudio Vargas , signed a one year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the LA Times reports .
In 37 big league innings with the Mets last year, Vargas posted a 4.62 ERA and accumulated a mere 20 strike outs.
The Mets had hoped last year that Vargas would possibly be an answer to their pitching woes, especially after the season ending injury to Orlando Hernandez, however, that never worked out.
This time around, the Dodgers are hoping that Vargas can provide some stability at the end of their rotation.
The deal is a good one for the Dodgers as his base salary for next season is only $400K, and depending on his performance can increase to $1.8 million.
