Laveranues Coles' season - and perhaps his career with the
Jets - came to an end yesterday when the receiver was placed on injured reserve. Coles, who will turn 30 next week, had played for almost a month despite a high ankle sprain. Last week, after having a portable trainer's table collapse on his already ailing ankle, he could manage only one play against the Patriots.
