After learning he had been called up to replace injured second baseman Kelly Johnson, Brooks Conrad arrived three hours early for a 45-minute flight from Norfolk, Va, where Triple-A Gwinnett was playing, to the nation's capitol, where his new team opened a three-game series against the Nationals.
