Court Awareness: Oden, Iverson, Bargnani and The Rest Of Wednesday Night

 
It only took about seventeen months from the day he was drafted, but Greg Oden finally played a regular-season game in front of his hometown fans. Oden missed all of last season recuperating from microfracture surgery, then injured his foot on opening night in Los Angeles. When Oden finally rejoined the Blazers last week, they were in the midst of a five-game road trip. With about five minutes left to play in the first quarter, Blazers fans finally had their chance to give Oden his long-awaited standing ovation. Oden, the top pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, didn’t disappoint. Neither did his teammates. Oden scored 11 points, pulled down ten rebounds, and blocked three shots in only 17 minutes in the Blazers' 116-74 victory over the Bulls. Oden was one of eight Blazers to score at least nine points. Brandon Roy led the way for the Blazers with 20 points. Bulls rookie Derrick Rose, the top pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, had a rough night. He had only six points and one assistm compared to the 25 ...
