Coach Romeo Crennel signed a two-year contract extension Tuesday with the Cleveland Browns, his reward for helping turn around a franchise in disarray for most of the past decade.

Coach Romeo Crennel has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with the Cleveland Browns, who won 10 games in his third season and finally returned to NFL respectability. Crennel's agent, Joe Linta, said Monday night that the sides have agreed in principle to the extension but it hadn't been signed yet. Though it had only been spoken in rumor form since the 2007 season came to an end, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has officially reported that the Cleveland Browns have awarded Romeo Crennel with a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the team through 2011.Was There Really A Need to Extend Romeo Crennel?
