Crimson has BC seeing red

 
It must have been nice to be king for a day. But Harvard gave 24th ranked Boston College (13-3) - which was coming off a stunning victory at ACC rival North Carolina - a dose of reality last night, defeating the Eagles, 82-70, in Chestnut Hill. The Crimson (8-6), which has a recent win over Santa Clara and a double overtime loss to Northeastern, is starting to emerge as the second best team in the Ivies, behind defending champion Cornell. Junior guard Jeremy Lin from Palo Alto, Calif., scored 27 points for Harvard. Freshman guard Oliver McNally added 17 while senior guard Andrew Pusar from Seton Hall Prep had 13. This was easily Tommy Amaker's biggest win since he took over the program last year. Harvard had never beaten a ranked team and was 1-15 against BC. "I tried to pre-warn them,'' BC coach Al Skinner said. "It's a short trip from the main house to the big house to the outhouse.'' Harvard opens league play Saturday against Dartmouth in Cambridge.
