Cubs' DeRosa returns to playing after procedure

Cubs second baseman Mark DeRosa returned to the starting lineup on Monday, 1 1/2 weeks after a procedure in Chicago to correct an irregular heartbeat. "He's anxious to play, and we're anxious to give him some work," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said before the game. DeRosa's procedure took about an hour on Feb. 28. It involved using electrical energy to destroy tissues in the heart that were causing the rhythmic disturbances. [link]
