It has just been reported that the Senators star winger, Dany Heatley has been traded to the Edmonton Oilers for Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner, and Ladislav Smid. However this report may have come out a bit to early, as it now looks like this is not the case!
The Oiler players involved in the trade apparently were notified that they were on their way out of Edmonton and on their way to Ottawa. It was not too long after that, when new reports had come out saying Dany Heatley has not approved the trade and has in fact rejected it.
Both the Oilers and Senators had come to agreements on the terms of the trade, however it seems that there was a major miscommunication between Heatley and both teams involved. Heatley never agreed to waive his no trade clause, therefore the trade is not going to happen.
Heatley who posted 39 goals and 33 assists for 72 points this past season with the Senators, asked for a trade from the team in early June. Bryan Murray however has not been able ...
