The new fad of the Rod Marinelli era with the Lions is to go after players from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Most notably, taking parts of their defense here and there and plopping them in the defense in Detroit. Marinelli's philosophy for acquiring players dictates they must be high-caliber players who represent the character of the game. Now, high caliber plays are not going to be found in Detroit just yet, but the Detroit Tigers were the laughing stock of the MLB during the 1990s and early 2000s. Now they are a force to be reckoned with. People now are wondering who plays each Sunday at Ford Field, the Lions or the Buccaneers. Then there are those who disagree with Marinelli and his ideas of going after players by going back to his old roots in Tampa where he won a Super Bowl. I have more trust in Marinelli than I do in Matt Millen.
