Dirk replaces Kobe in 3-point contest (AP)

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki will replace Kobe Bryant in the 3-point shooting contest Saturday night because the Los Angeles Lakers' star has a dislocated pinkie on his right hand. Bryant's injury will not keep him out of Sunday night's All-Star game in the New Orleans Arena. Nowitzki, the NBA MVP last season, won the 3-point shootout in 2006. [link]
