Draft notes: Jets might bail on Ryan, but they shouldn't

 
Some final pre-draft musings: • If QB Matt Ryan slips to the Jets, I think there’s a good chance they’ll bail out. They’ve been talking to the Ravens (No. 8), so that could be a potential trade. • The name I’ve been hearing lately is RB Jonathan Stewart of Oregon. A couple of months ago, he was rated a top-10 pick, but his stock dropped because of turf-toe surgery. Now he’s making his way back up draft boards. I know this: One team picking in the top 6 has Stewart rated among the top 7 players on its board. He’s a 235-pound load, a better all-around back than Darren McFadden, but not nearly as fast. Could the Jets pull a surprise with Stewart? • The more I hear about DE/LB Vernon Gholston, the more I’d be surprised if the Jets take him.
