Edmonds' HRs put the Cubs up 2-0 in crosstown series

Before the brooms start appearing tonight at Wrigley Field, one of the hitting heroes of the Cubs' 11-7 victory Saturday against the White Sox has a word of caution. ''It's tough to sweep a team,'' center fielder Jim Edmonds, who hit two solo home runs in a nine-run fourth inning, said after the Cubs improved to 2-0 in the first round of the interleague rivalry. ''I wouldn't be surprised if they come back. They're in first place, too.'' If the Sox do prevent a three-game sweep, they will be the first opponent to win at Wrigley since the Pittsburgh Pirates salvaged a 7-6 victory May 17. [link]
