Edmonton Holds On For Big Win In Anaheim

 
It was not easy, it was not simple and it was, at times, ugly.  The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-3 in a game where Dwayne Roloson, the Edmonton Goaltender, faced over 54 shots. Dustin Penner called it, "a fun game to play." The referees were busier than the grinder lines as they called a large amount of penalties, many of them against the Oilers. The Ducks almost caught the Oilers, as they made it 4-3 early in the third, but Ales Kotalik finished the game with an empty net goal. In the first period, the Oilers start off with a bang. Dustin Penner and Fernando Pisani scored within the first two minutes. Anaheim Coach Randy Carlyle pulled JS Giguiere for about two seconds. The Ducks started to take the game over through a parade of penalties. The Oilers were called for seven penalties in the first period.
