Eli Manning, Super spy

The Pro Bowl is not just a Hawaiian vacation for Eli Manning. It’s a chance to do a little surveillance. Less than a month after getting knocked around — and out of the playoffs — by the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense, Manning is spending the week under the guidance of the Eagles’ coaching staff. He’s the backup quarterback on the NFC squad, and Andy Reid and his staff are the coaches since they lost the NFC championship game. “I’m learning their defense and what they’re doing,” Manning told reporters out in Hawaii (where, unfortunately, I am not). “Try to sneak a few questions in there, not look too obvious.” OK, so maybe he’s not really spying (and Reid probably isn’t handing him the Eagles’ playbook for the week). But it’s still a big week for Eli, since it’s only the second time in his career he’s playing in a game against his brother. Peyton, of course, won the first Manning Bowl ... (link)
