Steve Eminger was introduced to the Philadelphia beat writers on a conference call this afternoon. Although he didn't reveal much more about his lack of playing time with the Caps last season and didn't fire any parting shots, I figured you might be interested in what he had to say. The Caps left the first round of what is widely regarded as the deepest draft in some time having made two drafts pick. The team traded up from 23rd to draft Anton Gustafsson with the 21st pick and traded Steve Eminger and a pick to Philly for the 27th pick, which they used to draft John Carlson. The Flyers continue to make moves to shore up their defense on Draft Day. First, the Flyers traded R.J. Umberger to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a pair of draft picks. Then, with the 19th pick in the draft the Flyers picked up defenseman Luca Sbisa. The Flyers started out draft day by making a major move. They sent RJ Umberger to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for the 19th and 167th overall picks in the draft. They used that 19th pick to draft Luca Sbisa, defenseman from the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League. The scouting report on Sbisa says:Flyers Draft Recap
