Everett to be activated for Friday's game

Shortstop Adam Everett's arm looked strong enough during his on-field throwing session Wednesday morning that he will be activated for Friday's game against Detroit, manager Ron Gardenhire said.

Tuesday night at the Stadium, the Yankees lost to the Detroit Tigers, 6-4. Phil Hughes pitched yet another awful game, only lasting 3 2/3 innings, allowing six runs.
