At several points in this season, it seemed as if the Nets had already played their last big game. It was hard to imagine meaningful moments at the end of March and into April.
But tonight, the Nets play the biggest game of their season. When it’s over, they play their biggest game again, tomorrow. Then after that, there’s another huge one - the biggest one to that point - on Saturday. Oh, and there’s a really big game squeezed in on Friday night.
Does that make sense? Of course not, because nothing makes sense for the Nets this season.
But here we are with spring about to arrive and the Nets are well into a playoff race that seemed pretty unlikely only a few weeks ago. Tonight’s game is against the Bulls, the team that is just two games behind them in the jumbled lower half of the Eastern Conference standings.
Tomorrow, Atlanta comes to New Jersey. Going into tonight’s games, the Hawks are a half game ahead of the Nets, holding on to the eighth and final ...
