John Marzano, a former Major League catcher who became an engaging and popular host of the "Leading Off" show on MLB.com, died Saturday at his home, apparently after taking a fall down a flight of stairs. He was 45. [link]

On Monday Sterno and I will use the entire hour to pay tribute to John Marzano who suddenly and tragically passed away over the weekend. When we have more details about where to send condolences to the Marzano Family it will be posted on this Blog. There will be no fantasy talk tomorrow but the show will return to it's usual form on Tuesday. We are anticipating some missed shows later in the week to attend services for Marz in Philly so please respect that if you see the show go dark later this week. 's death over the weekend, under what can only be described as tragically unexpected circumstances.  I'd come to enjoy his candid, enthusiastic commentary on MLB.com, and looked forward to what else he'd have to offer as he grew more comfortable with his role.  Any time a wife and two kids are left to cope with the loss of a husband and father (especially far before his time), it's tremendously sad.  Thoughts and prayers go out to Marzano's family. ...
