Ex-Giants defensive captain Rich dies (AP)

Herb Rich, a three-sport star at Vanderbilt and defensive captain of the New York Giants when they won the NFL title in 1956, died Friday. He was 79. Rich died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the school said. Rich spent seven years in the NFL. The Baltimore Colts drafted him in the sixth round in 1950, and he averaged 23 yards on punt returns as a rookie.

Seven time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan of the New York Giants is still undecided on whether he wants to return to the gridiron or start his life after football. Earlier today BizofFootball.com reported that Michael Strahan still had not made a decision about his future, and now he has. The seven time Pro Bowl defensive end will suit up in a New York Giants uniform for at least one more season.
