Ex-Raiders exec Lombardi picks Ryan for Jets

Former Raiders executive Mike Lombardi, working for the NFL Network, unveiled his mock draft for the top 10 picks. It includes a rather interesting choice for the Jets. Here it is: 1. Miami - OT Jake Long 2. St. Louis - DE Chris Long 3. Atlanta - DT Glenn Dorsey 4. Oakland - DE Vernon Gholston 5. Kansas City - OT Ryan Clady 6. Jets - QB Matt Ryan 7. With the fourth pick in the 2008 MVN Writers Mock Draft The Oakland Raiders Select

After much debate, Rob and I came to the agreement that with the fourth pick in the MVN Writers’ Mock Draft we would select Vernon Gholston, DE, THE Ohio State University. We were leaning towards Ryan Clady for most of the debate, but it came down to two factors. First, the quarterback must go down and he must go down hard. The Raiders only have three defensive ends on the roster and having a ...

Random Thoughts from the Dark Side as the Oakland Raiders draft approaches

The MVN Writers’ mock draft chugs on, and the New York Jets are ecstatic Darren McFadden did not become an Oakland Raider. Rob and I were both in agreement from the get go that McFadden was not on our radar. Now that does not mean that Al Davis feels the same as us, nor has Al Davis called Rob or I for advice on who to draft, so it is possible that McFadden will end up a Raider. Anyway, here ...
