Five to watch in the NBA draft

The Bulls need a pure point guard and scoring big man. Most mock drafts expect top point-guard prospects such as Derrick Rose, Jerryd Bayless and O.J. Mayo to be gone if percentages prevail and the Bulls stay at No. 9. But the pool of big-man projects is deep. Here are brief looks at five potential No. 9 picks:

USC is planning to tell the NCAA it did not know of any improper activity between O.J. Mayo and an event promoter alleged to have given the basketball player $30,000 in cash and gifts, according to a Los Angeles Daily News report.
