Floyd flirts with history

Gavin Floyd of the White Sox took a no-hitter into the ninth inning tonight before Joe Mauer’s one-out double. The particularly odd thing about this game was that the Twins scored a run in the fourth inning on a walk, an error, a flyout that advanced a runner to third and a sacrifice fly. Floyd could have joined an illustrious list of pitchers to give up a run in a no-hitter.
