Flyers End Day With Boucher and LaPerriere

 
While the hockey world is still running rapid with signings and players still to be had, the Flyers finished their searches early. Today, anyway. They signed free agent right wing Ian Laperriere and goaltender Brian Boucher to multi-year contracts, according to club general manager Paul Holmgren. Boucher’s deal is worth $1.8 million over the next two years, while Laperriere inked a three-year deal worth $3.5 million. “I’m thrilled,” Boucher said. “I had a nice year in San Jose, but I’m happy to be back in Philly.” “Obviously Brian’s experience with not only our team but with other teams, he is a good guy to have on our team,” said Holmgren of Boucher. “He is capable. He has played in a lot of NHL games and he also has playoff experience. Brian is a guy who really wanted to come back here.” This gives the Flyers a legitimate backup to the newly signed starter Ray Emery. Boucher is very comfortable with his new ... (link)
