The Philadelphia Flyers were getting used to scoring first, having done it 10 times in their last 11 games.
Tonight, they had to come from behind to defeat the New York Islanders 4-3 at the Wachovia Center.
The Flyers looked flat early, falling behind 2-0 just 9:36 into the first period on back-to-back goals from Andy Hilbert and Doug Weight that were just 61 seconds apart.
It was the Flyers fourth-line combination of Riley Cote, Arron Asham, and Darroll Powe who cut the lead in half 1:31 later. Cote hit Islanders forward Jon Sim behind the net, and the puck popped loose. Cote fed a pass to Asham, who roofed a wrist shot over Islanders goaltender, Yann Danis.
The Flyers tied it up in the second period thanks to Darroll Powe's first career NHL goal. Powe is replacing the injured Danny Briere, who continues to sit out with a groin injury. Powe slam dunked a Mike Richards rebound for the tally. Richards added two assists for the Flyers who improved to ...
