I thank a friend for bringing this to my attention.
A few days ago, I wrote an article about how Scott Gomez was going to be traded and how it seemed almost definite that the deal would go down very soon. Since then, I have received nothing but grief—but that is not why I'm writing this follow-up article.
My inside source is very real, and I actually have two now. The first told me that he felt the trade was going to happen the next day, so I quickly typed up an article just in case it came to fruition.
Upon typing up that article and showing it to my second source as sort of an "I bet you didn't know this was going to happen" type of thing, he informed me that my first source was crazy, and that a deal hadn't been offered. I believe him more than my other source now because of this.
It seems that there is in fact no Scott Gomez deal on the table. If there ever was one, we'll never know.
But I just want to clarify something here. I am an amateur hockey writer who dreams of making it ...
