Los Angeles Galaxy defender Sean Franklin had surgery to repair a bilateral sports hernia and is expected to be ready for the team's MLS opener on March 22. Franklin, last year's league rookie of the year, had the surgery in Munich, Germany, and was expected to return to Los Angeles on Thursday, the team said.
