Game 2: Mets vs. Phillies

Be careful what you wish for, but Billy Wagner said he’s available to pitch Wednesday if the Mets take another lead against the Phillies into the ninth inning. Wagner also was pretty chafed about a NY Times column that he believed suggested he took shots at his bullpen mates following Tuesday’s blowup ninth inning - and that he was “dogging it” in not demanding to pitch against his team’s chief divisional rival. The other primary Mets-related tidbit tonight concerns the dos Carloses, with the hot-hitting Delgado moved up to the cleanup spot and Beltran dropped to fifth in the lineup for the first time since his Royals days in 2003. -By Peter Botte [link]
