Strapping young lad, just like his pops). *** Anyway, getting to the news o’ the day, Matsui is out of the lineup with left-knee soreness – the opposite knee to the one that required surgery last offseason. Girardi wasn’t sure if Matsui starting in left field in Houston over the weekend was the cause, but the Yanks’ primary DH this season was slated to have fluid drained from his knee in a pre-game exam by Dr. Stuart Hershon. “At this point, I don’t know, but hopefully it’s not something like what happened last year with my right knee.
