Game 30: Yanks vs. Tigers
7:15 p.m. Another busy day here in the Bronx.
Thursday, it was more on Phil Hughes’ injury, which many people seemed to believe was fake. As it turns out, Hughes has a stress fracture of the ninth rib, an injury that looks like it will sideline him for the next two months.
Bad break for the Yankees, though Hughes was likely destined for a trip to the minors to sort himself out, anyway. Darrell Rasner will come up to take his spot, and if he can pitch half as well as he did at Triple-A, the Yankees will be okay.

This team crawled out of a 21-29 hole last year to make the playoffs, so 14-15 shouldn’t be the end of the world. Yeah, A-Rod and Jorge Posada are going to be out for a month or so (maybe longer in Posada’s case), but this team still has enough offense.
Robinson Cano WILL break out of his early-season funk. Why am I so confident? Because he’s a great hitter. And great hitters don’t hit ...
