Giants draft another University of Kentucky QB

 
With the way the Giants were nosing around quarterbacks during the last few weeks, their sixth-round pick should have come as no surprise. They took quarterback Andre Woodson out of the University of Kentucky with the 198th overall pick in the draft. At 199, their first and only compensatory pick, the Giants took Southern Mississippi defensive end Robert Henderson. Woodson, now the second Kentucky quarterback on the Giants’ roster (Jared Lorenzen is the other) was worked out a few weeks ago by Giants quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer. He’s 6-5, 224 and was good enough to threaten Lorenzen’s Kentucky records, though in the end he fell just short. Like Lorenzen, Woodson has a very powerful arm, which means it could be a fun and interesting competition between them this summer. It’s hard to tell exactly how the quarterback situation will work out, but it appears that veterans Anthony Wright and David Carr will battle for one spot, with Woodson and Lorenzen battling for the ...
