Giants-Marlins: Lincecum Looks Solid in 3-2 Victory

 
Tim Lincecum is starting to look like last year's CY Young Award winner again. The "Freak" had two no-decisions in his last three start and was starting to look frustrated after his last start. The Giants' bullpen blew a 5-4 lead for Lincecum, and ended up losing the game 10-6 to the Nationals. Tonight was a little different. Lincecum (5-1, 2.96 ERA) lasted seven and one-third innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He left the Giants' bullpen with a 3-2 lead that they would not surrender the rest of the night. Sergio Romo had another solid outing, recording two important outs in the eighth. But CP Brian Wilson struggled again. Wilson allowed two hits, but survived the ninth by striking out Florida Catcher John Baker to end the game, earning his 15th save of the year. Wilson's last five outings have been dramatic, but at least he is getting the job done. The Giants built a 3-0 lead with one run in three consecutive innings. Bengie Molina brought in ... (link)
