Giants target SS Furcal and Renteria (AP)

Shortstops Rafael Furcal and Edgar Renteria are among the free agents the San Francisco Giants are targeting as possible replacements for 11-time Gold Glover Omar Vizquel. Across San Francisco Bay, the Oakland Athletics also are courting Furcal. Furcal's agent, Paul Kinzer, said Monday the Giants and A's are still serious contenders to sign Furcal. (link)
