Girardi: Chamberlain's father doing a 'little better'

Joba Chamberlain's father is doing a little better in the hospital, according to New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi.
The hard-throwing reliever left the Yankees on Monday after his father collapsed at home in Nebraska, and the pitcher was placed on the bereavement list.
Harlan Chamberlain is hospitalized at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln.
"His father is a little better," Girardi said before Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay. "Still more tests to be run.

Andy Pettitte pitched seven dogged innings, Hideki Matusi launched a homer and drove in two and Derek Jeter showed that he can play in back-to-back games by collecting three hits as the Yanks downed the Rays 5-3 to sweep the mini two game set. Tampa Bay out-hit the Yanks 10 to 8, but the Bombers worked out nine walks as they moved back up over .500 at 8-7.Mariano Rivera
