Former Capitals coach Glen Hanlon definitely deserves another shot at coaching in the NHL this year.
Hanlon did the "dirty work" for the Caps in 07-08, in leading a successful rebuilding effort - although the Capitals won’t admit it, because Bruce Boudreau took over for Hanlon, guided the Caps to the playoffs, and got the glory.
In 4 seasons with the Capitals, Hanlon took a ragtag group of players and made them playoff contenders.
Hanlon has a great history of rebuilding, which is why he can fit into an NHL bench boss role this season for two clubs in particular.
The Los Angeles Kings are obviously looking to rebuild, and I don’t think the Marc Crawford era in LA will last very long.
The second home Hanlon could find is on the island with the New York Islanders.
Yes, the Islanders aren’t “rebuilding”, but if they aren’t, what are they doing?
Garth Snow is expected to announce the Islanders new coach sometime this week, and presumably that list of ...
