They made a great vote on Rich “Goose” Gossage when they decided his time had come to enter the hallowed hall. But this group of moronic writers did not elect Jim Rice.

Goose Gossage admits his performances declined in the later years of his career. Gossage, elected to the Hall of Fame Tuesday, said, "It's kind of weird" that players such as Roger Clemens have had their most productive years "as they got older."
