Hall calls Ewing (but Knicks don't)
Which is a greater honor, being named one of the top 50 NBA players of all time or being in the Hall of Fame?
Patrick Ewing, of course, has both on his resume as he is inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame today in Springfield, Mass. I would say the former is a greater honor just because it is an exclusive group. Each year the HOF selects a from a group of foreign players - many of whom never played in the NBA - as well as female players, coaches, executives and broadcasters. Think about it, on the night that Ewing goes in so too does Dick Vitale.
Also part of the 2008 Class is Pat Riley, the legendary head coach who guided the Knicks to the 1994 NBA Finals, before losing to the Houston Rockets and Hakeem Olajuwon, who also goes into the Hall of Fame this year.

It seems only right that Ewing and Riley will be linked forever. Perhaps if Riley had played Rolando Blackman in Game 7 as John Starks was having the worst game of his life at the worst ...
