The Miami Heat (38-32) got one step closer to the playoffs with a 94-82 win over the Memphis Grizzlies (17-53). It was their fifth straight win at home. The Heat are now only 3.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks (42-29) and 1.5 games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers (36-33).
The news of the night was Dwyane Wade's 27 points that put him over the Heat's single-season scoring record for points which he set a couple of years ago. Wade has been a scoring machine for the Heat this year, doing everything he can do to put the Heat in the playoffs.
He might even be doing enough for the coveted MVP Honor, but that's for a different discussion.
The Heat started out fast with an 11-0 run, and never looked back. Wade got a much deserved rest and sat out most of the second quarter because of Miami's comfortable lead.
Michael Beasley bounced back for a three point performance Sunday against Detroit, scoring 17 points and getting nine boards. Jamaal Magloire also pitched in with a season-high 12 rebounds.
