Hebert leads club professionals at New Mexico (AP)
Defending champion Scott Hebert got off to the start he needed Sunday with a 5-under 66 on the easier Santa Ana Golf Club course for a one-shot lead in the PGA Professional National Championship. Only two of the top 11 scores in the opening round came at Santa Ana. Hebert, of Traverse City, Mich., is trying to become the first back-to-back winner since 1972 in the tournament for PGA club pros.
